Kammerhof

  • Built around 1395
  • From 1462 to 1925 it was the administrative seat of the landlords of Pflindsberg.
  • In 1442, the Emperor Kaiser Friedrich III visited the Kammerhof.
  • On December 13th,1511, the Emperor Kaiser Maximilian I was hosted.
  • Until 1879 the apartment and practice of the Ausseer Saline doctors.
  • In 1540, installation of a fire observation tower and the window frames and window crosses made out of “Fludergraben” marble.
  • In 1654 /1655, installation of iron shutters for protection against fire or turmoil.
  • Purchased by the market town of Bad Aussee in 1972, today it houses the Ausseer Stadtmusikkapelle (brass band), the Ludothek, the town library and the celebrated Kammerhof Museum.
  • The building has been declared a historical monument.
  • The historical “Kaisersaal” chamber is frequently utilized for concerts.
  • The Kammerhof Museum contains numerous departments on the following topics: archeology, salt and local history, Archduke Johann, traditional dress of the region, genuine folk music and local customs.
